 Certain medicines go beyond the placental barrier, joining to the blood of the foetus and it can cause disorders.

 In the same way, some medicines are released in the mother’s milk and they are ingested by the breastfed babies.

 Both situations must be comunicated to the doctor at the moment of the prescription.

 Mixture of medicines
 Some drugs interact between each other when administered jointly. Avoid this possibility telling your doctor the treatments you are taking,  at the moment of the prescription.

 Advice in case of allergic reactions
 If you suspect previous allergic reactions to drugs, these must be always communicated at the moment of the prescription, studied by a specialist in allergies and, in case of confirmation, take always with you an indicative comewhere it can be seen easily.

 Read the leaflet
 The leaflet that comes with all the medicines mentions the administration way, the doses, interactions with other drugs, secondary effects, contraindications, precautions, etc. Read it carefully and if you have any doubt, tell your doctor or pharmacist before its administration or in case of adverse reaction.

 Keep out of the reach and sight of children
 Children may confuse medicines with sweets because of their shape and taste and imitate adults if they see them ingesting them. Risk must be avoided keeping medicines out of the reach and sight of children. For this reason, all medicines at home must be placed together on a high shelf.

Revisar expired medicines: SIGRE
 The first aid kit must be periodically reviewed, releasing those products in bad conditions or expired. They must not be thrown away: they must be taken to the pharmacy, where they will be picked up.

 Tell your doctor or pharmacist
 They are the only ones who can solve your doubts and prescribe or dispense the suitable product in order to treat any health problem, as well as indicate the correct administration way and the precautions to take into account.

 Avoid treating yourself or following advises of non experts in base of their personal experience.
